Poetry: Helix
HELIX
Divine silver threads
Croon a delicate
Syncopated pattering
Twirling tenderly
In the nocturnal
Enameled moonlight.
Vital raindrop magic
Landing on warm skin
Alive and soft
Saturating into
Eddying riverbeds of
Vibrant stardust.
Time stands still—
A spiral staircase
To the expansive
Undulating cosmos.
Every radiant heart
Opens wide.
Enough to eat.
Enough to sing.
Enough to discover
Our tender selves in
The exquisite whorl of
Our neighbors’
Courageous eyes.
Dreaming a new galaxy,
A nurturing latticework
Into existence.
Circling. Looping.
Interconnected
Helix heartbeats.
Thumping an ancient
Sacred, joyful meter.
Love.
Love.
Love.
